We visited The Potowatami Zoo and had brunch at Tippecanoe. They are in the process of installing beautiful walkways and a patio. Park across the street is lovely. Tennis too. Family time around the fire pit...inside and out was A+. Gena has thought of everything and goes TOP of the line. Communication with her was VERY pleasant. We have rented several homes in The Bend, this being our favorite so far.”

Even closer to ND (half-a-mile or so) now that the Eddy Street development has been completed (with more housing, a Trader Joe's and other shops). Gena (owner) was helpful and responsive to any questions. Neighborhood was quiet which made using the big outdoor space in backyard that much more relaxing — though there is plenty of space for socializing/get togethers, if that is in your plans) . I definitely recommend this property and would book it again for myself and my family when visiting the area in the future.”

The home was clean, well furnished and well appointed. We and our guests will forever remember the outdoor event we had in the spacious, flat, functional yard. Bordered by a nice wood fence we had privacy and could easily manage our guests arrival and departure. The walkway from the street provided easy access directly to the backyard. The firepit and seating were very much appreciated and in the evening when the lighting along the fence was on, the ambiance was great.”

★★★★★“Gena has an awesome place and is an even better host. I was there for 31 days attending a summer course at ND. My wife and our airedale joined me. The house was perfect for our long term stay. It had everything we needed and Gena repeatedly checked in with us via text. There are two bedrooms on the main floor and one bedroom downstairs. We spent most of the time on the main floor, but if you have a bigger group (6-8 folks), this house will work great for you. The backyard is a highlight. It is fenced in for the dog, has a grill, and also has a great sitting area around a fire pit. The house is conveniently located near campus. I drove every day to class at Stayer. It was about three minutes if I got stuck at a light or two. It is about a 15-20 minute walk (at a decent pace) to the stadium. It is close to Eddy Street Commons and several great food and drink establishments. It is a little further to the 'Backer on the east side of campus. We even walked home from downtown South Bend on the 4th of July. It took us about 45 minutes. Great place. Great host. If you are traveling with a dog (under 50 pounds according to the Vrbo info), this is the place for you. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Notre Dame for a football weekend or long summer visit.”

So much of what I loved before is still present — friendly and helpful owner, beautiful, updated, comfortable property close to ND (this home is approximately a few blocks away, close to new or renovated residential and commercial developments near Eddy Street Commons) that is well-maintained and well-stocked with EVERYTHING you need for time away from home! Six to eight people could easily stay here comfortably — there are roomy social spaces to hang out upstairs, downstairs, and outside. Personal highlights for me — morning coffee in the relaxing, private backyard (love the firepit area, even if I never had enough free time in my schedule to use it), watching tennis/pickleball matches in the park across the street, close commutes to campus, quick trips to Trader Joe's grocery a few blocks away to grab meal items or bottle of wine. I look forward to renting here again for my next ND visit. Many thanks to Gena the Owner for her welcome gift of Prosecco and her continued gracious hospitality! 5 stars, all around!”

It's a quick drive to the school or you can even walk/jog to the school of a fine day. Trader Joe's and Eddy Street are both walking distance too. My family enjoyed the space. We all looked forward go coming back to the property at the end of the day. The patio /garden was also amazing with the lights, the BBQ/Grill and the pit. I can just imagine how nice it'll be during colder months. Will definitely be back if we get the chance.”

We chose it not only for its proximity to Notre Dame but also for its convenient location near other South Bend attractions. From my cousin's rehearsal dinner at Carmella's Restaurant to her wedding at the Armory, everything was just 5–10 minutes away. Even the Indiana Dinosaur Museum and the Michigan border were only about a 25-minute drive. The house easily accommodated five adults with plenty of space. Parking was readily available right in front, and the backyard fire pit made for peaceful, relaxing evenings. I'd absolutely stay here again!”

The upstairs was stately with its 10 foot ceilings, while the downstairs, with its new carpeting, fresh paint, large comfy sofa, great lighting, large bedroom with 2 twin beds and it’s own private bathroom, was a total dream for the boys. My favorite memory is of 6 teenagers huddled together on the large comfy sofa, buried in blankets (the ac downstairs is refreshingly crisp) watching a scary movie. I also enjoyed listening to them laugh and bond downstairs, while the adults socialized upstairs….separate, but together. We took advantage of the wood burning fire pit while we watched the fireflies dance. Coming from Hawaii, we had only seen them in the movies. Location was ideal with a medium sized park right across the street (I think they are putting in tennis or pickleball courts), lots of parking, and a 5 minute drive to Notre Dame…perfect for game days!”
